Hike from the sun to our last dwarf planet, Pluto, and experience the vastness of space in an emotional way. Be an astronomical researcher yourself and rediscover the planets, like our researching ancestors.
Uranus was not discovered until 1781, when binoculars were invented. After the orbits of the planets could be calculated, it became apparent that Uranus had deviations from the pre-calculated orbit. That led to the conclusion that there must still be a planet. So a targeted search was made for it and Neptune was found in 1846. But its orbit also had deviations and so Pluto was found in 1930.
You too can search for Uranus. Take a pair of binoculars and look east on the horizon and spot the planets. Embark on a journey through our solar system.

From there, you have a wonderful view to the southeast of the national park and, on the other side, to the Sauerland/Upland and Rothaargebirge mountains. From there, the trail continues towards Basdorf. Through the village, past the church, towards the sports field, with a large parking lot and starting point for further hikes in the Kellerwald National Park.EderseeOnce there, you'll find the last planet, Pluto.
