The 36 km long Snow White Cycle Route takes you past numerous interesting points of interest: Friedrichstein Castle, where Margaretha von Waldeck was born and may have served as the model for the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, to the old mining and "Snow White" village of Bergfreiheit, where you can visit the Snow White House, the visitor mine, and a gemstone cutting workshop. The circular route leads through the picturesque landscapes of the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park.Edersee The route offers many beautiful stops along the way to relax and unwind. Among them are the Braunauer Warte observation tower with its magnificent panoramic views and the geologically significant "Bergfreiheiter Welle" (Bergfreiheit Wave). Along the route you will also find several of Bad Wildungen's thermal springs, the natural footbath at the village pond in Armsfeld, and several places to stop for refreshments, for example in Bergfreiheit, Reinhardshausen, Reitzenhagen, or at Friedrichstein Castle.

Our tip

A very special place along the bike tour is the Snow White village of Bergfreiheit. Here, with the visitor mine, the Snow White House, the mining office, and the gemstone cutting workshop, there are numerous attractions that bring the history of the former mining town to life.

safety instructions

The cycle paths/routes sometimes alternate between asphalted, gravel and/or field/forest paths. Very rare, even on roads with little traffic. The cycle paths/routes can be combined as desired (including ferries and ships) and are signposted on both sides. There are also a few combined cycle and pedestrian paths.
