The approximately 5 kilometer long Route 1 follows the Kellerwaldsteig towards Buchenberg and after about a kilometer comes to the Lichtenfelser Panoramaweg, which shortly afterwards follows a bend towards Reckenberg Castle. Shortly before Reckenberg Castle, the path changes over the Heimbach again to the Kellerwaldsteig, which leads through the narrow valley of the Heimbach back to the starting point.
