Bike tour to the opening of the Green Trails in Waldeck
On Friday the 13th, I went on a bike tour to the opening ceremony of the [event name] in beautiful June sunshine. Green Trails Made in Waldeck.
Perhaps they are Green Trails Not yet a household name. Fourteen municipalities in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district have joined forces for this project. Each municipality plans to develop a mountain bike trail park over the coming years. The ultimate goal is to connect all the individual parks. The trail park near Waldeck is the first of five planned for the region. Edersee The park is the fourth section to be implemented as part of what is probably Europe's largest cycling project.
After a roughly 16 km journey by eMTB, I arrived punctually at 14 pm for the opening of the Green Trails on the newly designed market square in Waldeck. Besides many distinguished guests such as the district administrator, several mayors from the region and some project managers, many cycling enthusiasts had already gathered in the market square, some with their bicycles.
After a brief project presentation and a few welcoming remarks, a larger group set off for a first round on the Green Trails to film in Waldeck. My colleague Claus and I also joined in with our e-mountain bikes.
As a group, we rode the Veltum Pink Loop. In about 1,5 hours, we covered almost all of the trails on a distance of about 15 km, except for the Reiherbach Trail.
During a few short stops, the people involved in planning and implementation gave an insight into their work and a few tips for riding the trails.
At the end of the tour, there was a reunion with other cyclists and those who had stayed on the market square with delicious sausages, coffee and cake and cold drinks.
Refreshed, Claus and I then finished off our day by riding the missing Reiherbach Trail, which turned out to be particularly beautiful. From Nieder-Werbe, I then cycled back home through the beautiful Werbetal valley.
In all the towns along the GreenTrails there are restaurants that you can use for stops or to round off your tour.

Despite the intense heat and the many kilometers (57 km by evening), I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of cycling. The ride was... Green Trails It's great fun. The Waldeck Trail Park can be accessed from the starting points of Waldeck, Nieder-Werbe, and Sachsenhausen; all three locations offer ample parking. Or, like me, as a local, you can do it and build the trail. Green Trails on a longer bike tour through the beautiful landscape around the Edersee One can also look forward to the additional trail parks that will be created in the region. These will then enable further, certainly very beautiful and varied tours in the region. Edersee.
